Trump’s Big ‘MAGA’ Ohio Rally Tonight Has Been Moved To…The Local High School
President Trump is headlining his third campaign rally this week. The president is in Columbus Ohio campaigning for Republican Troy Balderson who is running in a special election to fill Representative Pat Tiberi’s vacant seat.
The rally was recently moved and will now take place at Olentangy Orange High School. Trump endorsed Balderson for Tuesday’s Ohio special election and has repeatedly tweeted about that endorsement. Early this week Trump tweeted, “.
@Troy_Balderson of Ohio is running for Congress – so important to the Republican Party. Troy is strong on crime and Borders, loves our Military, our Vets and our Second Amendment. Troy will strongly protect…”

Despite his previous clear endorsement, just days ahead of the rally the president accidentally tweeted his support for the wrong candidate in Ohio’s special election. On Thursday, the president took to Twitter in an attempt to weigh in on Tuesday’s special election in Ohio. The president tweeted, and soon after deleted, an endorsement of Congressman Steve Stivers (R-OH) in the Ohio race.
There is just one problem, Stivers is not a candidate in the special election held on Tuesday, August 7 in Ohio. Trump tweeted writing, “Congressman Steve Stivers of Ohio has done a fantastic job as chair of the [National Republican Congressional Committee]. He is a great Congressman who is tough on crime & borders & an inspiration to our Military & Vets. Big on 2nd Amendment. Get out and vote for Steve on Aug. 7th. He has my full & total endorsement!”
Balderson is running against Democrat Danny O’Connor. The district Balderson and O’Connor are competing to represent has been represented by a Republican since 1980. A recent poll shows Balderson with a thin lead over O’Connor in the Monmouth University poll.
The poll’s director Patrick Murray said, “This is still a Republican-leaning district with many metrics that continue to favor Balderson, but growing Democratic enthusiasm has made this race surprisingly competitive.”
And Trump’s MAGAts are already getting in the MAGA mood:
