There’s A New Poll Out That Determines American’s ‘Favorite President,’ And Trump Won’t Be Happy…
The Pew Research Center recently conducted a poll that asked Americans who the best president of their lifetime was. The poll was open-ended and asked which president had done the best job in their lifetime. The survey then used the respondents first and second choices.
The results of the survey show that former President Obama tops the list for most Americans. Of those surveyed, 44% responded that President Obama was either the best or second best president in their lifetime. By contrast, only 19% responded that President Trump is the best or second best.
After President Obama, 33% of Americans said that former President Bill Clinton was either the best or second best president in their lifetime. Coming in a close third, 32% of respondents said that former President Ronald Reagan was the best or second best present in their lifetime.
The survey’s results were largely tied to age. Millennials were much more likely than older Americans to rank Obama as the best president, 62% of millennials said Obama was either the best or second best president in their lifetime.
As might be expected, 40% of older generations, baby boomers, and the silent generation, favor former President Reagan. Most millennials were not alive during Reagan’s administration. The survey also reflected a divide along party lines. Of those who identified as being either Democrats or Democrat-leaning, 71% identified former President Obama as the best or second best president in their lifetime.
Of those who identified as either Republican or Republican-leaning, 57% named former President Reagan as the best president or second best president in their lifetime. The survey included 2,002 adults and was given between June 5-June 12.
