Donald Trump Has Done Some Despicable Things…Here Are The 25 Worst
25. Prefers Porn Stars To His Wife
In 2006, one year after his marriage to Melania Trump, and 4 months after the birth of his third son Barron, Donald Trump embarked on a year-long affair with adult-film actress Stormy Daniels. The extramarital affair was revealed in 2017 when the Wall Street Journal discovered Trump’s attorney paid $130,000 in “hush money” to keep the porn star quiet. Melania Trump was humiliated by the news and quickly distanced herself from her husband, refusing to ride in his motorcade and jaunting off to Mar-a-Lago when the news broke. Daniels is currently suing Trump to nullify the 2016 agreement, which would allow her to speak freely about their relationship.
24. Physically Abused His Son
Don Jr. was such a party animal in college that he earned the nickname “Diaper Don.” That didn’t go over well with his father, who is obsessed with appearances. When Trump went to pick up his son for a baseball game, Don Jr. opened the door wearing a Yankees jersey. According to one of Don Jr.’s old dorm neighbors, Trump smacked Don Jr. so hard he “[knocked] him to the floor in front of all of his classmates.” Trump, who expected Don Jr. to dress more formally, ordered him to “put on a suit and meet me outside” and left.
23. Rosie “Is A Fat Pig”
Trump’s feud with Rosie started in 2006, when she criticized him for not firing Miss USA Tara Connor for drug use. It grew to the point that he brought her up during two presidential debates. Over the years, he’s called her fat, crude, obnoxious, dumb, talentless, a “total train wreck,” and a loser. It’s possible that he was projecting. Trump doesn’t even try to deny that he’s bullied Rosie; when Megyn Kelly called Trump out during a Republican presidential debate for how he treated women, he said:
22. Trump’s Charlottesville Response
After the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia turned into a deadly riot, President Trump refused to condemn the neo-Nazis, white supremacists, and KKK members involved. First, he said that there was violence “on both sides.” At a press conference at Trump Tower a few days later, he not only defended his remarks but suggested that liberals were to blame, not the neo-Nazis, because they came “charging in without a permit,” whereas Unite the Right obtained a permit to protest the removal of a Robert E. Lee statue. He even called the torch-wielding alt-right protesters “some very fine people.”
21. Called Megyn Kelly A Bimbo And Hinted She Was On Her Period
During the Republican presidential primary debates, Kelly singled Trump out, saying, “You’ve called women you don’t like fat pigs, dogs, slobs and disgusting animals,” calling into question his ability to be presidential and his disrespect towards women. Trump responded by suggesting that she was on her period. “There was blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever,” he told CNN. Trump also called her a “bimbo” on a number of occasions, once using his “I won’t because it’s not politically correct” remarks:
His defense, during an interview with Kelly, was telling her it’s “Not the most horrible thing … Over your life, Megyn, you’ve been called a lot worse. Wouldn’t you say?”
20. Ex-Wife’s Violent Rape Accusation
In 1989, Trump went to a plastic surgeon that his then-wife Ivana recommended to remove a bald spot. The surgery was extremely painful, and Trump lashed out at Ivana. In a sworn divorce deposition, Ivana detailed how Trump pulled out clumps of her hair before he sexually forced himself on her. Afterward, he asked her with menacing casualness, “Does it hurt?” In October 2017, Ivana said “As a woman, I felt violated, as the love and tenderness which he normally exhibited towards me was absent. I referred to this as a ‘rape,’ but I do not want my words to be interpreted in a literal or criminal sense,” despite her sworn testimony.
19. Wants to Date His Daughter … Kind Of
When discussing whether he’d be okay with daughter Ivanka Trump appearing in Playboy Magazine, Donald Trump said on ‘The View” that he would be disappointed, but added “Although she does have a very nice figure. I’ve said that if Ivanka weren’t my daughter, perhaps I’d be dating her.” Trump has also remarked on “The Howard Stern Show” that Ivanka is a real “piece of ass” and “she’s actually always been very voluptuous … she’s tall, she’s almost 6 feet tall … she’s a real beauty.”
18. No Black People Allowed
Throughout the early 1970s, Trump and his father Fred routinely discriminated against black and Latino housing applicants. They instructed rental supervisors not to rent to black people and to tell them that the cost was twice as much as it really was to deter them from renting one of their properties. Trump employees were also instructed to mark applications from minorities with codes, such as “No. 9” and “C” for “colored.” In 1975, Trump agreed to a consent decree, where he didn’t have to admit wrongdoing, but he was ordered to take out ads telling minorities that they were welcome at his properties.
17. Mocking A Disabled Reporter
Trump claimed that there were “thousands” of Muslims in New Jersey celebrating the September 11th attacks and that Washington Post reporter Serge Kovaleski reported on it. Kovaleski said that he did “not recall anyone saying there were thousands, or even hundreds, of people celebrating.” The reporter has a congenital joint condition that hinders movement in his arms. Trump mocked his condition as he said, “Now, the poor guy — you ought to see the guy: ‘Uh, I don’t know what I said. I don’t remember.”
16. Hates Fat Women
Trump has fat shamed multiple celebrities, including Rosie O’Donnell, Kim Kardashian, and Jennifer Lopez, business associates, Miss Universe and America contestants and even people on food stamps. He routinely attacked Miss Universe Alicia Machado, saying things like, “She weighed 118 pounds or 117 pounds and she went up to 160 or 170. So this is somebody that likes to eat.” He even fat shamed former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who had already endorsed him, telling him during a campaign speech, “You’re not eating Oreos anymore. No more Oreos.”
15. Finds Nursing Moms Disgusting
In 2011, Donald Trump told a breastfeeding mother that she was “disgusting” during a deposition in a real estate case. During the deposition, attorney Elizabeth Beck asked for a medical break so she could pump breast milk for her then 3-month-old daughter. “You’re disgusting,” Trump told the new mother when she took out a breast pump to highlight the issue’s urgency. Trump then reportedly left the room and refused to testify for the remainder of the day.
14. Claimed Obama Was Kenyan-born Muslim
Donald Trump made his most despicable foray into the world of politics when he accused former President Barack Obama of being born in Kenya. Trump started questioning the authenticity of Obama’s Hawaii birth certificate in 2011, which led to Obama releasing his official, long-form birth certificate. Not satisfied, Trump continued to plug his conspiracy theory until late 2016 when he finally admitted, “President Barack Obama was born in the United States, period.” Trump then invented a new lie that Hillary Clinton had “started the birther controversy” during her 2008 primary run against Obama.
13. Attacked John McCain For Being A POW
In 2015, Donald Trump spoke to Iowa voters about fellow Republican Sen. John McCain and said, “He’s not a war hero. I like people that weren’t captured. He’s a war hero because he was captured. I like people that weren’t captured.” McCain was held as a prisoner of war in Vietnam for five years, where he was tortured so badly that he was left with lifelong, physical disabilities. Trump famously never served in the military, getting repeated medical deferments due to his bone spurs. McCain, who is currently battling brain cancer, said Trump has yet to apologize for the disgusting remark.
12. Stripped Health Insurance From His Infant Nephew With Cerebral Palsy
After Donald Trump’s father died in 1999, his will revealed that Frederick Trump’s estate would be divided between all of his children, except for the descendants of his son, Fred Trump Jr., who died in 1981 of alcoholism. The children of Fred Trump Jr. sued, accusing Donald Trump of having “undue influence” over their grandfather who had been suffering from dementia. A week after the lawsuit was filed, Donald Trump retaliated by withdrawing the medical benefits critical to his nephew’s infant child, who suffered from cerebral palsy. “I was angry because they sued,” he said.
11. Called Black People Lazy
Trump has a history of making racist remarks about African-Americans. In a book written by former Trump employee John R. O’Donnell, he claims that Trump once talked about Jews being greedy and black people being lazy. When talking about hiring an accountant, Trump said, “I’ve got black accountants at the Trump Castle and at Trump Plaza. Black guys counting my money! I hate it. The only kind of people I want counting my money are short guys that wear yarmulkes every day. Those are the kind of people I want counting my money. No one else.” Trump then claimed black people are lazy, saying, “I think that the guy is lazy. And it’s probably not his fault because laziness is a trait in Blacks. It really is, I believe that. It’s not something they can control. … Don’t you agree?”
10. Humiliated Arianna Huffington
In 2012 Donald Trump attacked media bigwig Arianna Huffington over her 1997 divorce from a former congressman who later announced that he was gay. Trump said Huffington was “unattractive both inside and out. I fully understand why her former husband left her for a man- he made a good decision.”
9. Called Mexicans Rapists
Trump launched his campaign in 2015 by calling Mexican immigrants “rapists” who are “bringing crime” and “bringing drugs” to the U.S. His campaign was largely built on building a border wall to keep these immigrants out of the U.S. Trump even tweeted a similar racist statement, saying, “Druggies, drug dealers, rapists and killers are coming across the southern border. When will the U.S. get smart and stop this travesty?”
8. Cheated On Wife Ivana With Marla
Donald Trump set the gossip world ablaze in 1989 when he was caught cheating on his first wife Ivana Trump with mistress (and eventual second wife) Marla Maples. A newspaper took photos of Trump, his wife and his mistress while they were all skiing in Aspen, Colorado. Ivana Trump says she learned her marriage was over when she was approached by Maples. She said, “This young, blonde woman approached me out of the blue and said ‘I’m Marla and I love your husband. Do you?’” Maples later famously appeared on the cover of the New York Post, claiming Trump was the “Best Sex I’ve Ever Had.”
7. Didn’t Pay Contractors
As a billionaire real estate developer, Donald Trump had repeatedly failed to pay his contractors, putting many out of business. Trump’s Taj Mahal, the most expensive casino ever built in Atlantic City, filed for bankruptcy in 1991, leaving hundreds of contractors stiffed. Forest Jenkins, who had a $200,000 contract to build toilet partitions, ended up receiving just 30 cents on the dollar and lost his business. Additional contractors have come forward since Trump won the presidency, stating that they weren’t paid for Trump’s most recent project, the Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C.
6. Called African Nations “Shitholes”
Donald Trump once called a handful of predominantly black nations “shithole countries.” During a White House meeting in January 2018, Trump said, “Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here?” Trump was referring to Haiti, El Salvador, and some parts of Africa. When referring to Haitian immigrants specifically, Trump said, “Why do we need more Haitians? Take them out.” Trump also remarked that he wanted more immigrants from countries such as Norway, a country with a largely white population.
5. He Enjoys Being Vindictive
Graham was one of 16 candidates running for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination. As he and his peers were constantly being overshadowed by Trump, Graham called the real estate developer a “jackass.” Trump responded by calling Graham a “lightweight” and an “idiot.” Trump said on “Fox & Friends” that Graham once called him “begging” for a good reference. He then read out loud Graham’s phone number and told his supporters to “try it.” Apparently they did, because Graham had to get a new phone:
4. Degraded Parents Of Fallen Soldier
During the Democratic National Convention in 2016, Khizr Khan, with his wife Ghazala standing beside him, spoke about his son Humayun, who died in the Iraq War, and criticized then-candidate Trump for not understanding the U.S. Constitution. He even offered Trump his own copy. Trump responded by suggesting that “maybe [Ghazala] wasn’t allowed to say anything” because she is Muslim. But the way Trump tried to spin his comments were even worse:
This story is not about Mr. Khan, who is all over the place doing interviews, but rather RADICAL ISLAMIC TERRORISM and the U.S. Get smart!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 1, 2016
3. Joked About Receiving The Purple Heart
When Trump went to a rally in Ashburn, Virginia during the 2016 Presidential campaign, a retired lieutenant colonel gave him his Purple Heart. “I said to him, ‘Is that like the real one, or is that a copy?” Trump, who dodged the Vietnam War draft five times, told the crowd. “And I said, ‘Man, that’s like big stuff. I always wanted to get the Purple Heart,” Trump said. “This was much easier.”
2. Neglected Daughter, Tiffany Trump
When Trump found out that Marla Maples was pregnant with Tiffany, he asked his then-wife, “Excuse me, what happened?” and “Well, what are we going to do about this?” Marla was shocked. Trump told Howard Stern that she said, “Are you serious? It’s the most beautiful day of our lives.” Though Trump told the radio host that he was “glad it happened, I have a great little daughter, Tiffany,” all his second daughter got was a lifetime of Trump ignoring her and celebrating his first daughter, Ivanka, in front of her.
1. “Grab Them By The P***y”
Trump was recording a feature for Access Hollywood with host Billy Bush when they were caught on a live mic talking about sexual conquests. Trump bragged that he could sexually assault women and get away with it, declaring, “I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star, they let you do it, you can do anything … grab them by the pussy.” The video was released just weeks before the election and is one of the few things Trump has apologized for, though he later told friends he regretted his apology, not his comments.
