Trump Surrogate Slams John McCain For Not Wishing Melania Trump Well After Her Surgery
Kelly Sadler who, before last week, was an unknown White House aide, cannot stay out of the news. Sadler made headlines last week after she responded to Sen. John McCain’s (R-AZ) opposition to the confirmation of President Trump’s CIA Director pick by saying, “It doesn’t matter, he’s dying anyway.”
Since Sadler made her callous remark, the White House has refused to issue a public apology. Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have condemned the comment and called for a public apology. Instead, the White House has tried to flip the narrative, making the story about internal leaks. The president himself, on Twitter, said that leakers are “traitors.”
The co-chair of Women Vote Trump, Amy Kremer, went on CNN’s “New Day” on Tuesday, along with political commentator Ana Navarro. Kremer, in a crass display of disrespect and disregard for Sen. McCain’s family, questioned whether Sadler even made the remarks at all.
It should be noted that Sadler privately called Sen. McCain’s daughter, Meghan, to apologize for her remark. Kremer then attacked Meghan McCain for making “a big deal out of it to the public.”
She continued to say, “I think the whole thing should be dropped. I don’t think that we should continue on with this.”
Kremer then went after Sen. McCain, who is currently battling aggressive brain cancer, for not wishing first lady Melania Trump well on Twitter after it was reported that she was in the hospital yesterday.
Kremer said, “Yesterday, when the news broke about Melania, two minutes before I had a breaking news alert about Harry Reid on my phone. Two minutes later, the news alert came about Melania being in the hospital. As of this morning, right before we went on air, John McCain had tweeted to Harry Reid to get better. Not one tweet to Melania. So the bad blood goes both ways. Don’t pretend that this is only going one way because it’s not.”
Donald Trump has criticized the Arizona senator on many occasions. In 2015, Trump said of McCain, “He’s not a war hero. He was a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren’t captured.”
Trump himself has never served in the armed forces. McCain is a decorated veteran who was held captive and tortured for years as a prisoner of war in Vietnam.
