Ivanka Trump Wished Melania A Happy Birthday On Twitter…And It Was Awkward
Today is first lady Melania Trump’s 48th birthday. Her step-daughter, first daughter Ivanka Trump, sent her a birthday greeting via Twitter. The message was short and sweet.
Happy birthday to @FLOTUS, an incredible wife, mother and First Lady!

Last year, Ivanka tweeted:

While Ivanka’s birthday wishes are short, they’re still more significant than the rest of her family’s. That is an easy bar to beat, though, as Ivanka is the only Trump to wish Melania happy birthday publicly this year.
Despite her husband’s Twitter habit, he has not made mention of his wife’s birthday. He did, however, suggest that, as president, he is far too busy to get her a birthday gift. In an interview on “Fox & Friends” this morning, the president said, “You know, I’m very busy to be running out looking for presents, OK?” He continued saying he did get her a card and flowers.
That same interview included the president’s suggestion that he might intervene with the Justice Department at some point. He explained that he has chosen to remain uninvolved, but that that choice could change. As is his style, the president likes to leave the public with a cliffhanger.
This is far from the first time that the Trump family’s birthday greeting habits have been called into question. Just last year, people noticed that not a single member of the Trump family wished Tiffany Trump, the president’s only daughter from his short marriage to Marla Maples, a happy birthday publicly.
It has been reported that Tiffany Trump has a strained relationship with her presidential father, with the two going months without speaking. Tiffany was raised by her mother, Marla Maples, but she spent some school breaks with her father.
