Trump Just Canceled His Trip To England In A Fit, Because He Doesn’t Want To Be Humiliated By Protestors

After President Trump retweeted Islamaphobic videos initially posted by white supremacist group Britain First, citizens in the UK made it clear that they did not want Trump to come anywhere near their country. But Trump had a visit scheduled, planning on attending the opening of the new US embassy in London. Keyword—“was.”

The Daily Mail is reporting that Trump has canceled his visit, all because he’s afraid of a cold reception. As we reported when the trip was initially scheduled:

The trip, if it happens, will likely be a nightmare for secret service. Earlier in the year, before Trump’s tweet, over a million UK citizens signed a petition to cancel a planned state visit. Now, with Trump even less popular, Whitehall sources are afraid that Trump will ignite the biggest protest since the Iraq War, which saw 1 million protesters marching in London. Labour MP Barry Sheerman believes that any visit from Trump would bring “unparalleled demonstrations in this country.”

So, yes, one million angry Brits probably wouldn’t make for an enjoyable visit.

The Daily Mail also notes that Trump and Prime Minister Theresa May’s relationship has deteriorated of late, especially after Trump tweeted the Islamaphobic remarks. When May criticized Trump, the President tweeted “Don’t focus on me, focus on the destructive Radical Islamic Terrorism that is taking place within the United Kingdom.” He also said, “We are doing just fine!” (We’re really not)

But since then, there was also another small development: Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House. Trump can’t be seen causing more controversy and chaos, especially after his Thursday remarks, calling countries like Jamaica, Haiti, and El Salvador “shitholes.”

England shocked the world with Brexit, a far-right movement, and it looked like Trump and the UK would be very happy together. Now he’s afraid to visit the island.

UPDATE:

Trump tweeted about canceling his trip, and his excuse was a doozy.

Trump wrote on Twitter that he canceled his trip because he is “not a big fan of the Obama Administration having sold perhaps the best located and finest embassy in London for ‘peanuts,’ only to build a new one in an off location for 1.2 billion dollars.”

“Bad deal. Wanted me to cut ribbon-NO!” Trump wrote.
