Donald Trump won’t be at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida, Saturday night for his one-year inauguration anniversary gala, and he’s not happy about it. Trump decided to use his Twitter account this morning to tell everyone that the government shutdown is all the Democrats fault.
He also tossed out a little bit of snark.
This is the One Year Anniversary of my Presidency and the Democrats wanted to give me a nice present. #DemocratShutdown

According to multiple reports, Trump is not expected to attend his big party, which will double as a fundraiser, as was originally planned.

In addition to Saturday being the anniversary of when Trump took the oath of office, it is also the first day of the latest partial government shutdown.
Trump canceled plans to fly to Florida from Washington on Friday when it became apparent a shutdown was imminent.
An invitation for the Mar-a-Lago event said tickets are starting at $100,000 a pair, covering dinner and a photograph with Trump. Couples can also participate in a roundtable for $250,000.
The event will benefit both the Republican National Committee and Trump’s presidential campaign, and it is being hosted by RNC Chairwoman Ronna Romney McDaniel and casino owner Steve Wynn.
Instead, Donald Trump Jr. and/or Eric Trump are expected to attend the event in Trump’s place.
Told @POTUS will not go to Mar-a-Lago anniversary party — but that Don Jr. and/or Eric are likely to attend in his stead.

And according to Politico, Trump knows everyone will blame him for the shutdown. Trump told aides that he believes he will be blamed for the government shutdown “no matter what.”
“It’s Trump — they’re going to blame me no matter what,” Trump reportedly said on Friday.
Trump made the comments just hours before the Senate failed to pass a continuing resolution to fund the government, triggering a government shutdown at midnight.
Multiple people close to the White House told me this morning that Trump is absolutely furious he hasn’t been able to leave for Mar-a-Lago yet. Now they are trying to figure out a way for him to get to Florida without much backlash. I don’t think that route exists. #TrumpShutdown

Not shocking news, but a bit of color: GOP source tells me Trump is furious about the shutdown, which is messing up his anniversary and keeping him from going to Mar-a-Lago for his party.
