Donald Trump’s White House physician announced on Friday that Trump is in “excellent health” following his physical exam.
“The president’s exam at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center went exceptionally well. The president is in excellent health and I look forward to briefing some of the details on Tuesday,” Dr. Ronny Jackson said in a statement.
White House press secretary Sarah Sanders on Thursday said Jackson will “join me in the briefing room next Tuesday to give a detailed readout and answer a few questions.”
Former President Barack Obama appointed Jackson to his position as physician to the president in 2013.
The report follows speculation surrounding the president’s health leading up to the exam.
It was the first physical exam for Trump, 71, since taking office. The doctor will provide more details to reporters on Tuesday at the White House.
Critics have been accusing Trump of faltering mental abilities. The presidential physical exams do not normally include mental-health evaluations, and this one didn’t, either.
Trump departed Washington after the exam for his private club, Mar-a-Lago, in Palm Beach, Florida, where he will spend the four-day holiday weekend.
