According to CNN, Donald Trump was on the golf course Saturday morning when a false ballistic missile alarm was sent as an emergency alert to cellphones in Hawaii.
White House correspondent Boris Sanchez said the network had learned Trump was on the golf course at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Fla., from a White House official.
The White House later put out a statement to say Trump has been briefed on the situation.
“The President has been briefed on the state of Hawaii’s emergency management exercise. This was purely a state exercise,” said White House deputy press secretary Lindsay Walters.
So once Trump wrapped up golfing and hit Twitter, what did he tweet? If you expected a tweet about Hawaii you were wrong…instead you got a crazy tweet about fake news.
Trump tore into author Michael Wolff, calling him “mentally deranged,” and claimed he wrote false information in his new book “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House.”
“So much Fake News is being reported. They don’t even try to get it right, or correct it when they are wrong. They promote the Fake Book of a mentally deranged author, who knowingly writes false information. The Mainstream Media is crazed that WE won the election!” Trump said in a tweet.

Trump has repeatedly hit Wolff on the book, which contains several explosive claims about the president and the administration.
Wolff writes that several people close to Trump in the White House have questioned his mental fitness to serve as president. The claim as sparked renewed interest in the media on Trump’s mental health.
Trump’s comments were his first public comments since a false mobile alert was sent in Hawaii warning people of an incoming missile.
And people on Twitter noticed:
So you've got nothing to say to the residents of Hawaii, who spent 40 minutes today thinking they were about to be nuked? Nice leadership.

Why are you trying to change subject? What about #Hawaii? You are the president of that state. Also, what fake news? Tell me what was reported that wasn’t true

Me, Me, Me! Worse than a 5 year old.

So you’re just not gonna say anything about Hawaii?

What about Hawaii and the Hawaii people? Some reassurance?

More than a million of your citizens thought they were going to die in a nuclear war today. You were golfing and kept golfing. You’ve said nothing to make us feel safe. You are an abject failure as a leader. We might as well have no president at all
